Julie specializes in planning and implementing campaign-style public relations strategies. Her vision-driven approach to integrative marketing planning, brand development, and media relations has increased awareness and market share for public and private institutions statewide.
Prior to joining Markstein Consulting, Julie served as the director of communications and public relations for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the nation's leading cancer-treatment and research centers. Julie also served as the public-relations specialist for the City of Auburn, where she managed all media-relations activities and served as a spokesperson for the city. While there, Julie conceptualized and implemented the city's first community-wide arts, music, and children's festival, an event that today attracts 20,000 visitors annually.
Julie earned her J.D. from the Birmingham School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, with a concentration in journalism and management, from Auburn University.
