Eileen J. Markstein – Managing Director

Eileen's idea-centered, innovative approach to corporate and communications strategy helps clients identify unrealized opportunities while addressing strategic challenges. She excels at helping her clients navigate the arc between strategy development and integrated tactical implementation. Eileen's expertise includes strategic business planning, operational and organizational management, integrative communications strategy, corporate and executive positioning, and brand management.

Prior to co-founding Markstein Consulting, Eileen worked as a communications consultant in Washington, DC for leading companies including Burson-Marsteller, a top-five global public relations firm, and The ProMarc Agency, where she left her position as associate vice president to pursue a graduate degree. During this time she managed domestic and international communications projects in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets for companies ranging from blue-chip pharmaceuticals to technology start-ups. She worked closely with her clients on projects including corporate identity, product development, messaging and positioning, issues-based educational outreach, brand management, and media and industry relations, among other communications initiatives that proactively increased awareness and influenced consumer behavior among target audiences.

Eileen earned her Master's in Business Administration with a focus in International Business/Marketing from The George Washington University, and her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from James Madison University. Eileen currently serves on the Highlands School Foundation's Board of Trustees and is a 2008 member of Children's of Alabama's Committee for the Future.
